Over the 12 months following the release of single-player mode, Line War's turnover almost doubled compared to the first year after release — a rare sight for any Steam title. Yet, I'm reinvesting every penny into R&D, and to continue pushing the game forward — or even accelerate development — I now need your help.
Steam Fest invites are behind us, and Steam has also declined a Free Weekend. Even after 6 years of development, there's still so much I want to achieve. Refund rates have been high, but the feedback is clear: many players struggle with onboarding, and the game lacks interactive tutorials and campaigns.
I believe that once the game closes in on completion, Line War will truly explode. Gamers who understand the game already put in 500+ hours, and Steam's time-spent diagram shows a great spike at the rightmost extreme labelled 20+ hours. It is clear to me that many out there would learn to enjoy Line War, if only it was brought to completion.
Now, I need a sign from the community to move forward, or development risks going into maintenance only.
This is your chance. Please help me.
How Your Pledge Works
- For every $1 you donate, I commit to doubling it with $2 of studio resources for a total of $3.
- Your monthly support guarantees a minimum level of Line War development at Studio Centurion for the coming year, regardless of other company revenue or expenses.
- My Patreon goal for continuation is $2,000 per month. The current figure will always be publicly disclosed at the Patreon website.
- Studio Centurion will inform all supporters immediately if it cannot uphold this minimum commitment.
- Your donation is never in vain. Even if the Patreon campaign falls short, I promise to deliver in proportion to the support already received.
The Roadmap
Here's an excerpt of the goals for a finalized version of the game:
- Many or all - but not limited to - features mentioned on the roadmap page.
- A fully featured Map & Campaign Editor.
- Users will be able to create WW2-like scenarios with proper skins.
- While a vastly improved single-player experience is a key part of the roadmap, Line War was born from multiplayer — from competitive, replayable PvP. That spirit remains at the heart of the game and will continue to be an essential, unmissable part of Line War's identity.
- Planned price: ~$60. While this is my main goal, Studio Centurion may instead explore a WW2-like spinoff if needed. Every pledge directly fuels the completion of Line War and possible future expansions.
There's nothing I'd rather do than double down on Line War, and with your support, we can make the game the experience it was always meant to be.
